The Business Applications Manager North America plays a key role in the delivery of business services at Civeo. Under direction of the Business Applications Director, the Applications Manager is responsible for a portfolio of business applications and services and provides leadership, direction, and coaching to the portfolios’ Business System Analysts in the pursuit of service delivery excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical
- As the leader of Civeo’s Business Analyst team in the North American region, coordinate with Business Leadership and all NA IT to ensure alignment and that urgent priorities are promptly addressed.
- Communicate effectively with various levels of management and provide exceptional customer service to stakeholders at all levels.
- Responsible for the performance, availability, capacity, change, and major incident management of mission critical business applications and services.
- Responsible for tactical / operational plans to enable projects, operational initiatives, and systems support and to assist the Project Management Office in managing resource utilization to deliver on mandates.
- Responsible to recruit and mentor team members in partnership with the Business Applications Director, with the goal of building and retaining innovative, engaged and high performing teams.
- Provide oversight, career development, and supervisory functions for all direct reports.
- Create and maintain a positive working environment in alignment with our core values.
- In coordination with the Applications Manager Asia Pacific, accountable for end to end operational portfolio management and alignment.
- Lead operational and corporate projects in alignment with our corporate project management methodology.
- Ensure successful delivery of quality solutions that meet stakeholder expectations.
- Build and manage effective customer and vendor relationships by understanding related business strategy, operational goals and managing expectations.
Support and Mentor Business System Analysts
- Work with departments to align workflow and implement technology and process best practices to increase efficiencies in across all functional areas of the business.
- Work closely with key stakeholders to identify reporting and application solutions
- Provide leadership in writing functional specifications to address application bugs and minor enhancements.
- Provide direction in managing operational support documentation and user guides for support provided to the business or other parts of IT.
- Analyze implications of requested new or enhanced application functionality and provide feedback.
- Provide leadership in following Civeo’s formal change management process and facilitate delivery of all production system updates through the change management process.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education / Experience
- Degree or diploma in computer science or a related program.
- 5+ years of direct leadership experience managing application support teams through business analysis, resource management, hiring, performance reviews, time management, and training plans.
- Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional projects, enterprise-level service delivery and operational initiatives.
- Demonstrated strengths in negotiation, budgeting, planning, organizing, and delegating.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including superior critical thinking skills and decision-making confidence.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills coupled with strong verbal and written communication and demonstrated commitment to customer experience.
- Strong presentation skills including ability to present technical material to audiences with varying degrees of technical competence.
- Must have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License, with a 5-year driving record satisfactory to Civeo’s driving criteria.
Desirable :
- Property Management, Hospitality industry or Retail industry experience preferred but not mandatory.
- Some software development exposure or experience (please highlight).
- ERP experience is an asset.

Responsibilities1

- Collaboratewith analysts, developers, and system owners in the testing of new softwareprograms and applications.
- Manage andprovide direction for the business applications team in support of businessoperations, including coaching, mentoring team members.
- Work withoperating divisions and corporate to improve operations, reduce costs, anddrive efficiencies.
- Providetechnical leadership to project managers and analysts working on developmentproject teams.
- Developand maintain standards of project planning, and all application and systemsdocumentation, ensuring that plans and documentation are kept up to date at alltimes.
- Ensureprojects are delivered with best practices, reusability of code, and anunderstanding of how to use technology to best meet business needs.
- Design,develop, and install enhancements and upgrades to systems and applicationsoftware.
- Cultivate,disseminate, and enforce functional policies, procedures, and quality assurancebest practices.
- Ensurethat all production systems are supported and maintained according to companystandards for quality, and that requests for amendments and enhancements areproperly authorized, change managed, and implemented in accordance withinstallation, release, and change control standards.
