About the opportunity :

With a focus on meeting the community’s business and economic development goals, you will help to implement initiatives to attract investment and business opportunities and support business retention and expansion in the community. This exciting position involves marketing and promotion, economic planning, project management, research, and statistical analysis. This term leave replacement role is anticipated to run from January 2026 to January 2027. This is a great opportunity to contribute meaningfully and make a lasting impact over the course of the year.

About your background :

Along with a strong business acumen, you bring to this role a related bachelor’s degree or diploma and at least one to three years of related experience in an economic development role, which includes the preparation and implementation of business, workforce development, and marketing plans. You have strong writing skills, statistical research, data analysis abilities, and social media expertise. Exceptional communication skills are essential to success in this role. A valid, full privilege Class 5 BC driver’s license or out of province equivalent is required for this position.
