We seek a highly motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Technologist / EIT.
Job Type : Full-time, Permanent
Schedule :
- 8-hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Hybrid / Remote
Location : Alberta (Calgary, Lethbridge, Edmonton)
Responsibilities
The main responsibilities will include, but are not necessarily limited to the following :
Work directly with the Professional Engineer to assist in project completion and stamping.Perform detailed window and door engineering calculations using applicable software models, including finite element analysis (FEA) and other proprietary programs.Review project drawings, architectural specifications and CAD models of fenestration products.Complete design review of product components and installation methods to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards and Building Code compliance.Provide design recommendations and consulting based on product performance and project parameters.Communicate effectively with clients and team members through written reports, emails, phone calls, and video chats.Conduct site visits and prepare reports as needed.Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and prioritization of tasks.Continuously learn and grow within the field to contribute to the development of new thermal tools and methodologies.Experience in Fenestration and Façade Industry is an asset!
Qualifications
Education in Structural, Civil or Mechanical Engineering : Must be a provincially registered Technologist, although full engineering degree and EIT status is preferred.2D / 3D AutoCAD Proficiency : Basic level required for general day-to-day work. Additional experience is a plus.Microsoft Excel Proficiency : Strong understanding of equations and general Excel capabilities. VBA experience is highly desirable.Clear Verbal and Written Communication Skills : Ability to write clear and concise reports and emails and communicate effectively with clients and team members.Analytical Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret data and make informed recommendations.Attention to Detail : Exceptional attention to detail is essential to ensure accuracy in reports and data analysis.Understanding of Building Construction Principles : General knowledge is required, with hands-on experience being a plus for potential site visits.Balance of Repetitive and Innovative Work : Ability to handle repetitive tasks with precision while maintaining a drive to learn and innovate.Time Management Skills : Strong ability to estimate project timelines and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.Personality Traits
