The SaskEnergy Enterprise Networks team plays a pivotal role in operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and architecting SaskEnergy's extensive corporate and SCADA network infrastructure.
This team ensures the seamless functionality, security, and strategic development of SaskEnergy's network systems, vital for both corporate operations and SCADA functions.
Description of Requirements
SaskEnergy is seeking a highly skilled Network Analyst to join the Enterprise Networks team. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in the operational administration and implementation of LAN / WAN infrastructure, supporting both corporate and SCADA networks.
This individual will work with the team to configure and implement network infrastructure while adhering to industry and security best practices.
This role necessitates a minimum of five (5) years of recent and hands-on experience in network administration, analysis, and design / architecture.
The position emphasizes active involvement in day-to-day operational network administration while contributing significantly to the ongoing enhancement, architectural design, planning, and implementation initiatives within the SaskEnergy network infrastructure.
The proposed Resource candidate will preferably have the following skills listed below :
1. Proven expertise in Layer 3 Spine and Leaf data center networks using VXLAN with BGP EVPN.
2. Mastery in BGP and OSPF protocols.
3. Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, WLAN Controllers, and WAPs.
4. Command-line proficiency with Cisco IOS, ASA, IOS-XE, and NX-OS.
5. Strong understanding and application of Cisco Remote Access and L2L VPN Technologies.
6. Familiarity with Cisco Prime Infrastructure Version 3 or higher.
7. Proficiency in configuring and administering load balancers.
8. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Azure IaaS.
9. In-depth understanding and application of network security best practices.
10. Track record of implementing network technologies for organizational technology projects.
11. Proficiency in managing next-generation firewalls, including Fortinet, and other advanced firewall technologies.
12. Collaboration skills within multi-disciplinary project teams.
13. Understanding of enterprise-level networks and seamless integration between on-premise and cloud environments.
14. Additional expertise in OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) and AWS (Amazon Web Services) cloud environments.
15. Additional expertise with LTE and satellite technologies
16. Experience in ITIL, Change Management
17. North American job experience.
Typical activities in this role include but not limited to :
1. Administer, implement, troubleshoot, and document the enterprise network, ensuring its smooth operation and documentation.
2. Develop plans for network device development, aligning them with present and future requirements and industry standards.
3. Provide expert technical support, administration, and engineering for all SaskEnergy network devices, ensuring optimal functionality.
4. Monitor, fine-tune performance, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues promptly to maintain high system availability.
5. Oversee network disaster recovery, including planning, implementation, maintenance, and rigorous testing.
6. Interact with corporate and field employees, addressing technology issues promptly and escalating when necessary.
7. Implement network equipment patches using established company processes to maintain security and functionality.
8. Uphold systems integrity through effective change control, problem management procedures, and regular communication with internal stakeholders.
9. Stay updated with the latest networking technologies, certifications, and industry trends to ensure a high level of expertise and adaptability.
10. Contribute to departmental objectives by organizing, monitoring work processes, and collaborating with team members effectively.
11. Ensure compliance by following Standard Operating Procedures while executing role responsibilities.
12. Attend and actively contribute to team meetings, offering insights and expertise.
13. Collaborate with diverse teams to establish scalable and adaptable network solutions.
14. Act as a representative of Digital Technology & Security, aligning with the department's goals and objectives.

The Network Analyst must be able to perform in a team environment with strong interpersonal and professional communication skills.
Experience in North American jobs is considered a valuable asset for this role. Proponents are encouraged to provide specific and qualitative verbiage of other areas where their expertise can add value to our teams and make our projects as successful as possible.
The preference for start date is as soon as possible. The initial term for this role will conclude on March 31, 2025 ; after which SaskEnergy will evaluate its ongoing requirements and potentially extend the term for this Resource in accordance with the terms and conditions of the proponent’s Technology Master Service Agreement (TMSA).
