Electrical Design Engineer

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Hardware design – component selection, schematic design, PCB layout, simulation, and analysis.
• Firmware design – write and document embedded firmware for new product and existing product enhancements.
• Experience with PCB layout requirements for power electronics and high speed and mixed-signal circuitry, and PCB design experience with Altium or similar PCB design software.
• Participate in product design, from concept to production release, in accordance with internal project management processes. These activities include all cycles of product development from design, test, debugging, DFM, release to production, safety compliance, etc.
• Develop test criteria, design and build test fixturing, perform tests and document results.
• Responsible for preparing customer-facing technical materials.
• Interface with customers to understand problems and applications, use feedback to generate and drive new product design requirements.
• Provide engineering support to production, sales, and operations.
• Experience with design for manufacturing and cost reduction initiatives.
• Have a solid understanding of good product design principles and standards, including those for hardware, firmware, and product safety.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required for documentation creation, discussions, correspondence, etc.
