About the Role :
Reporting functionally to the HR Manager, Canadian Advisory, and operationally to British Columbia’s Regional Business Leaders, the Senior HR Advisor supports day-to-day operations teams by providing advice and recommendations to managers and employees, ensuring the consistent application of Graham’s HR programs, policies, and relevant legislation.
You will be the go-to resource for most people-related items, including overseeing workforce planning activities, recruitment, new employee onboarding, employee relations, performance management, employee engagement, and employee development. You will also support the HR Manager, Canadian Advisory, with developing and implementing HR programs to meet organizational objectives and to ensure alignment with corporate goals.

As a Senior HR Advisor at Graham you will :
- Develop close working relationships with client groups by demonstrating a solid understanding of the commercial drivers of their business.
- Provide information and advice on all HR-related issues to employees of the client group.
- Serve as the conduit between other corporate HR teams and the client group, ensuring that information is accurately passed between groups and that feedback is conveyed and implemented where necessary.
- Consult with management and provide daily HR guidance for the client group by working to resolve complex employee issues.
- Respond to employee complaints and perform workplace investigations according to company policies and procedures.
- Assess the severity of employee complaints and ensure that investigations are completely and properly documented according to company policies and procedures.
- Manage all aspects of terminations : ensure legal compliance, recommend severance, coach managers, and support the employee.
- Understand and interpret human rights legislation and internal policies to management.
- Participate in candidate interviews and support hiring managers in their assessment.
- Support the employee orientation and onboarding program through education and coaching.
- Provide business unit organizational structure advice and design input.
- Provide information and advice regarding career development for the client group.
- Assist with the movement and redeployment of people in the client group.
- Along with the recruiter, conduct initial job briefings with the hiring manager to learn requirements of the open positions and understand what experience and knowledge prospective candidates will need to demonstrate to be successful in the role.
- Support employee return-to-work plans, including coaching and advising on non-occupational issues that may arise for the employee and manager.
- Work in partnership with the Mobility Advisor on immigration activities, including cross-border assignments.
- Coach and advise the client on effective job performance strategies and techniques, including the creation of performance improvement plans.
- Manage the education and training of the client group.
- Facilitate Performance Management and annual Compensation processes including calibration sessions with client group business leaders.
- Partner with client group leaders to enhance employee engagement through education initiatives, debriefing survey results, incorporating feedback and creating action plans based on the findings.
Qualifications :
Certificate, diploma, or degree in Human Resources or related education.CPHR or equivalent professional designation is preferred.7+ years of progressive HR experience.Experience in the construction, engineering, or primary resource sector is an asset.Knowledge of HR law (human rights, employment standards, common law, basic law).Ability to work autonomously and continuously multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills.Ability to handle sensitive and complex situations with sound judgment, tact, and discretion.Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency with MS Office and experience with HR Management SystemsWorking Conditions :
Most of the work is completed in the office, however local travel to project sites (up to 25%) is required.Compensation :
