S.i. Systems enterprise public health client is implementing MEDITECH Expanse. They are seeking Senior Instructional Designers to evaluate content in Medpower, identify gaps vs clinical workflows and processes, and develop training content.

This may include e-learning modules, video tutorials, quick reference guides, and other artefacts. May also include the development of content intended to address MEDITECH Expanse utilization from data analytics reports.

MUST HAVE SKILLS :

  • Experience with MEDITECH® Expanse or a nursing background ( significant in-depth experience with clinical workflows)
  • Experience with Adobe Captivate

NICE TO HAVE :

  • Experience with Medpower
  • Experience in BC Healthcare
  • Experience in large organizations
  • Experience with large-scale clinical transformation and / or clinical information system implementation

JOB DUTIES :

Complete the following activities in preparation for MEDITECH Expanse training at Royal Columbian Hospital (September ) and future implementations.

  • Develop a detailed work plan outlining how this package of work will be completed within the defined timeframe.
  • Utilize health information system and adult education best practices in the development of content.
  • Identify learning objectives and validate with clinical work streams as appropriate.
  • Develop asynchronous online training content for various learning audiences.
  • Stakeholder groups who will require focused training include, but are not limited to :

o Physicians / providers (e.g. hospitalists, emergency physicians, radiologists, surgeons, cardiologists, etc.)

o Nursing (e.g. inpatient nursing, outpatient / ambulatory nursing, operating room and post-anesthetic care unit nursing, etc.)

o Allied health professionals (e.g. physiotherapists, occupational therapists, respiratory therapists, dietitians working in acute and ambulatory environments, etc.)

o Clerks and clerical staff (e.g. staff responsible for registration and scheduling, unit clerks, receptionists, etc.)

o Ancillary staff (e.g. pharmacists, pharmacy technologists, imaging technologists, cardiology technologists, etc.)

  • Focus will be on the development of e-learning modules, but may also include classroom instructor manuals, clinical training scenarios, practice session guides, presentation materials, quick reference guides, video demonstrations, simulation scripts and competency evaluation tools.
  • Develop and support Train the Trainer sessions, as needed.
  • Support for e-learning content using Adobe Captivate.
  • Conduct Adobe Captivate course / content audits.
  • Potential support or delivery of in-person or virtual classroom instructional sessions.

BACKGROUND :

This transformation will be supported by the implementation of MEDITECH Expanse, to replace our multiple ageing systems that are at risk for failure.

This multi-year implementation across Fraser Health will continue to progress us towards HIMSS Level 6. Our first implementation occurred at Eagle Ridge Hospital in April ;

the second implementation took place at Fraser Canyon Hospital and Mission Memorial Hospital in November of . Royal Columbian Hospital is next in September .

The objective of this engagement will be to further Fraser Health’s digital transformation by facilitating a move toward asynchronous online learning for MEDITECH Expanse training.

The Instructional Designer / Content Developer will evaluate content in Medpower, identify gaps as it relates to Fraser Health specific workflows and processes, and develop training content to fill that gap.

This may include e-learning modules, video tutorials, quick reference guides, and other artefacts. May also include the development of content intended to address MEDITECH Expanse utilization from data analytics reports.
