Job Summary

TheIndustrial Electrician (A) is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical systems and electricallydriven mechanical equipment in accordance with Ontario Electrical Code, facility safety procedures, and OEM standards. The role requires strong diagnostic abilities, safe work practices, and the ability to support both preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

This role ensures safe, reliable, and compliant operation of electrical and electromechanical equipment supporting facility heating, cooling, ventilation, and critical power systems. The licensed A Industrial Electrician is a key technical resource responsible for both preventive and corrective maintenance and supporting specialized vendor operations.

Responsibilities

Electrical & Electromechanical Preventive Maintenance

Perform scheduled inspections on electrically powered equipment including :

Heat Maintenance Circulation Pumps (quarterly)

Supply Fans (quarterly)

Condensing Units (quarterly)

Expansion Tanks (semiannual, electrical checks where applicable)

Conduct :

Verification of BAS / controls interlocks.

Electrical Troubleshooting & Corrective Work

Substation & Distribution Support

ThirdParty Vendor Coordination

Coordinate / schedule specialized thirdparty vendors for :

Power Washing Vendor Supervision (summer schedule).

Site Support & Compliance

Work Environment & Schedule

Requirements / Qualifications

Strong knowledge of :

BAS / controls interfacing.

Skills

Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, P&IDs.

Skilled in testing electrical systems using :

Vibration / temperature monitoring tools (as applicable).

Familiarity with :

Electrical safety for mechanical equipment.
