Position Summary
BCIT’s School of Energy is seeking a regular, full-time (1.0 FTE) Faculty to teach in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Technology. This department offers diplomas in electrical engineering technology with options in automation and instrumentation, electrical power and industrial control, and telecommunications and networking, as well as bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering.
The successful candidate will be expected to deliver lectures and laboratory activities, develop course material, evaluate student progress, supervise student projects, and support the day-to-day operations of the department. As a valued member of our team of respected faculty with extensive industry experience and knowledge, the successful candidate will bring practical skills to the classroom, inspiring and guiding future practitioners in their field. Duties & Responsibilities As a passionate educator with a commitment to excellence in engineering education, the successful candidate will teach courses in subject areas related to electrical engineering and technology, and will leverage their expertise to engage and challenge students in a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible to meet the course learning objectives, participate in department activities, engage with team members, support continuous improvement initiatives within the department, and perform other duties as specified in the collective agreement.
The candidate must have experience using electronics lab equipment (power supplies, function generators, spectrum analyzer, oscilloscopes, etc.) and a solid foundation in the following areas :
