Hours of Work : Monday to Friday - in accordance with the Collective Agreement

Location : Kenora, Ontario (In-person)

Position Status : Up to 3 continuing, full-time positions. This is an existing vacancy.

The Licensed Mechanic will be responsible for the inspection and repair of fleet vehicles and equipment including but not limited to cars, buses, dump trucks, loaders, graders, snow clearing equipment, and small engines.

Duties :

• Operate a variety of diagnostic instruments and a variety of hand, electric and air-driven tools to diagnose, repair and service vehicles and mechanical equipment.
• Inspect, adjust, and replace necessary units and related parts in the performance of repair and maintenance work.
• Initiate repair requisitions for parts and supplies.
• Create and maintain equipment service records.
• Perform inspections and safety checks along with ensuring that health and safety regulations are met.
• Provide emergency field assistance to disabled vehicles and equipment as needed and appropriate in all weather conditions.
• May be required to provide training to other staff / apprentices.
