FUNCTION & DUTIES :
Reporting to the Director of School Operations, the Project Development Officer, as part of the School Operations team, is responsible for research, analysis and development related to school food programs for Kativik Ilisarniliriniq.
IN GENERAL, THE POSITION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Identify potential funders such as foundations, governments, businesses and private investors;
- Draft funding proposals including project plans, detailed budgets and justifications for funding;
- Maintain relationships with existing funders and connect with potential new partners;
- Follow up on projects being funded and report on their progress to the funders and his / her supervisors;
- Keep abreast of new funding trends and opportunities;
- Advise project carriers on optimal funding strategies and help them meet the funders' requirements;
- Develop school food programs and menus;
- Support the hiring and training of school cooks;
- Manage food-related budgets;
- Purchase necessary equipment;
- Offer direct support to schools with both virtual and in-person visits;
- Coordinate regional food strategies with partner organizations;
- Coordinate and liaise with other Kativik Ilisarniliriniq departments (Adult Ed, Education Services, Finance, etc.) with respect to programming and education;
- Perform any other related tasks required by his / her supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS :
A completed undergraduate university degree in a job-related field of specialization
The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualifications if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.
REQUIREMENTS :
Proficiency in at least two (2) of the three (3) official languages of work of the school board (Inuktitut, French, English);Communication and leadership skills.Report writing skills.Ability to work in a team environment.Knowledge of the MS Office suite.Knowledge of the community environment in need of employment.Knowledge of key regional stakeholders.Knowledge of the adult education, vocational training and business services sectors.CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS :
In accordance with the SPPENOM collective agreement for professionals. This position belongs to job category 2143 : From $55,282 to $97,963 annually depending on qualification and experience. All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
