Job Summary
As a Physical Education Teacher, you will play an important role in developing strong foundational skills and in promoting positive character development and personal growth in Junior School students.
You will work with a collaborative, dynamic team of educators and staff who are passionate about the success of all learners.
This role requires someone who can adapt and adjust their teaching to meet the diverse needs of each learner and is passionate about student success.
Excellent instructional practice and an eagerness to learn and grow as an educator are required for this role. This role reports to the Director of Junior School.
Opportunities Belong to and collaborate with a team of dedicated professionals Continue professional growth and learning through a variety of development opportunities Participate in field trips, outdoor education trips, athletics coaching, clubs, and leadership development Responsibilities Plan, teach & assess your students in accordance with BC Ministry of Education Curriculum and our homeroom program, which includes : Teach physical literacy, healthy and active living, social and community health, and mental well-being Design and implement lessons that build core competencies and support growth in executive functioning and cognitive processing using in-school programs (training provided) Support the development of Individual Education Plans for each student in your classes Collaborate with faculty members to ensure students receive the highest quality education and programming Provide ongoing feedback to students and parent / guardians regarding student progress Coach a minimum of 1 team per semester Competencies Provides a dynamic, innovative, adaptive, and enthusiastic learning experience for students Thrives in a collaborative, flexible, and supportive team environment Strong organizational, time management skills An active commitment to ongoing professional growth and development Exemplary communication in English (oral and written) and interpersonal skills (students, colleagues, parents) Passion for continuous improvement Requirements Bachelors Degree in a kinesiology related field is preferred BC Teacher Certification (Teachers Regulation Branch) in the form of a Certificate of Qualification (CoQ) or Independent School Teaching Certificate (ISTC) Work with students who have learning differences is preferred Independent school experience and coaching / extracurricular experience are assets Class 4 license or willingness to obtain one is also an asset To apply, please submit a resume and cover letter addressed to Jody Vanegas, Director of Junior School.

FA offers an exceptional and stimulating environment, along with competitive employment packages. The annual salary for this position falls within the range of $64,691 to $115,695.
