Job description

Our client is looking for a Portfolio Manager for a permanent position.

Start date is now

Location : GMA or GTA

Responsibilities :

  • Support IT Leadership and IT Business Partners in the annual IT project planning process and ensure adherence to PMO process
  • Ensure adoption of PMO methods, tools and processes across all projects under the portfolio
  • Integrate the Portfolio Roadmap into the global PMO Roadmap understanding dependencies
  • Support the IT Lead in the prioritization and scheduling of IT projects
  • Perform quality reviews of detailed project plans prepared by project managers
  • Ensure proper approval paths are followed for all Deliverable acceptance and key decisions
  • Coordinate efforts to solve for resource needs with IT managers and project leads
  • Oversee Portfolio financials with support of the project controller
  • Govern the overall portfolio execution by monitoring the project health, supporting risk and issue resolution, and confirming Deliverable quality is met
  • Coordinate timely creation of Portfolio Report and perform quality reviews
  • Cascade and ensure adoption of PMO Continuous improvements across portfolio projects
  • Improve project management knowledge in the IT organization through training and coaching

Requirements :

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Accounting or other related field or equivalent work experience;
  • 7-10 years of experience delivering IT project and strong understanding of Project Management methodology and processes
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills; ability to provide updates to Director and senior VP levels; adept at building relationships with internal teams and external partner;
  • Proficient in MS Office (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, MS Project and Excel) and Sharepoint. Quantitative focus, advanced Excel analytic capability; Power BI an asset.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and multi-tasking skills;
  • Experience working with global teams;
  • Strong knowledge of IT program financials and accounting;
  • Ability to collaborate at all levels of the Program. Demonstrated ability of being a self-starter;
  • Ability to operate in complex, fast pace project environment with interdependencies spanning multiple work-streams, teams, business divisions, geographies, time zones, & languages;
  • Ability to adapt and adjust quickly to changing priorities.
  • Must have Work Authorization for Canada.
