The Senior QA Automation Specialist is responsible for leading and coordinating automated testing activities, including overseeing the process of creating, executing, and maintaining automated test scripts, with a goal to ensure that software quality standards are met for application development and system implementation for all product domains at Coast Capital.
What you’ll get to do :
- Supervise and lead a team of Test Automation Specialists providing automated regression testing services for supported software applications and products.
- Implement the Enterprise Quality Assurance Automation processes, guidelines, and best practices to bring in QA effectiveness.
- Create and maintain test automation dashboards that provide stakeholders with the status of the testing projects and milestones.
- Design, implement and maintain Automation Testing Frameworks for web and mobile applications, and develop automated test data identification and creation solutions.
- Promote awareness of automation tools and processes; apply them daily to deliver quality products.
- Stay relevant on the latest automation testing tools and techniques to better serve Coast’s customers; proactively contribute to ongoing process improvement.
- Coordinate with various teams including the project team, the developers, and the management team to prioritize automation tasks and ensure business requirements are met.
- Develop thorough understanding of the application architecture, development lifecycle and roadmap and create, execute and document detailed, accurate automation test cases and scenarios.
- Assess the feasibility of automating any new test cases being developed and define the regression priority with an objective to increasingly reduce manual testing efforts.
- Continuously review the automation test results to identify and delineate between any automation script defects vs. legitimate software bugs and / or service impacts;
modify scripts as needed.
Analyze, develop, debug, execute, maintain, and document automation test cases; identify test data and environment.
Who are we looking for?
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical field and a minimum of 4 years’ experience in Quality Assurance and Engineering developing and running automation testing.
- Solid Understanding of and experience in SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), testing concepts, methodologies, and metrics.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully leading a team of Test Automation Specialists in a dynamic and customer focused environment.
- Advanced experience and knowledge of test automation concepts (data-driven framework, keyword driven framework etc.) and tools (like Selenium, Appium, TestNG, Page Object Model and Browser Stack) is required.
- Advanced knowledge of testing tools (i.e. JIRA, SoapUI, Postman) and experience with other tools (i.e. Excel, Visio, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Solid understanding and experience in Object Oriented Programming languages like Java and Python.
- Advanced experience and knowledge of developing SQL queries using PL / SQL and T-SQL.
- Advanced experience and knowledge of CI / CD, Jenkins, and containerization tools like Docker.
- Solid understanding of Waterfall and Agile methodology of software development.

- Attention to detail with strong analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to maintain strategic relationships with internal customers (QA team, Business, Infrastructure, Architecture etc.).
