Job description

Senior Accountant

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team in Calgary. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing financial processes, leveraging technology, and providing valuable insights to leadership. This role offers a hybrid work environment, requiring three days of in-person collaboration at the Calgary office each week, with the flexibility to work remotely on other days.

Your success will be defined by your ability to :

Assist in monitoring and enhancing financial and operational internal controls.
Contribute to the month-end close process.
Prepare quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements note packages.
Assist with MD&A review.
Prepare monthly gas accruals, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Document complex transactions in accordance with IFRS, providing clear and insightful analysis.
Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts, including PP&E and ROU asset continuities.
Assist with the transactional cost build-up related to capital assets during month-end close.
Support quarterly, interim, and annual external audits, as well as internal and tax audits as required.
Respond to ad hoc requests for financial information and other duties as assigned.

Your strengths include :

Bachelor’s degree and a Chartered Professional Accountant designation

3+ years’ experience in a similar role

Familiarity with Oracle NetSuite is an asset

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
