About This Opportunity
Oceanview Family Practice is seeking a family medicine physician to join their team. Oceanview Family Practice is attached to the Yarmouth Regional Hospital (YRH), they have a team-based, patient-centered and accessible vision for primary care which is aligned with the Patient Medical Home model of primary care.
Physician in this practice will offer urgent care access and support the Dalhousie Family Medicine Residency program that is based out of the clinic.
Successful candidates may participate in teaching with Family Medicine residents and medical students through Dalhousie University.
YRH has developed into a vast health care complex serving the 58, people of Shelburne, Yarmouth, and Digby Counties. It has inpatient beds and provides a range of primary and secondary services through in-patient, outpatient and satellite programs :

Responsibilities
- ensure the delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness
- be accountable for appropriate workload and practice
- provide improved access of care to clinic patients by participating in urgent care rotation
- support the Dalhousie Family Medicine Residency program
- continuum of patient care with health care providers within your practice and / or community
- provide care and coordination of community-based care, secondary and tertiary level heath care
- build to capacity within the first two years
- operate within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of Nova Scotia Health Authority
- work in collaboration with other team members in the practice to best suit the community’s health needs
- work with other providers to provide after-hours access and emergency coverage when required
- participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities
- utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) and record all relevant patient details in a provincially approved EMR which is accessible to all collaborating team members

Qualifications
- all applicants must be eligible for licensure with the (CPSNS)
- all specialists must be eligible for certification with the (RCPSC)
- membership with the (CMPA)
