Compensation : $70,000-$80,000 Base + Commissions (OTE $90,000-$100,000)

Overview
A leading manufacturer and solutions provider in the construction and building materials sector is seeking a Dealer Sales Representative to oversee and grow residential-market sales throughout British Columbia. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in building supplies, construction products, distribution, or contractor-focused sales who enjoy a blend of relationship management, field support, product training, and territory development.
The Dealer Sales Representative will work closely with dealer networks (lumber yards), builders, contractors, and various partners in the residential supply chain. The position combines hands-on sales activity with product education, merchandising, and market development.
Key Responsibilities
Customer & Territory Development (50%)
- Build strong relationships with existing and prospective dealer, contractor, and builder accounts.
- Conduct regular in-person visits to demonstrate products, communicate value, provide samples, and secure orders.
- Deliver high-level customer support, resolve issues promptly, and ensure accounts receive ongoing training and product knowledge.
Merchandising & Product Representation (25%)
Build, maintain, and refresh in-store product displays, signage, literature, and retail program offerings.Ensure inventory is well-represented, organized, and positioned for maximum visibility.Market Support & Jobsite Engagement (10%)
Support builder and dealer partners by reviewing products and applications on residential jobsites.Analyze market needs, competitive dynamics, and product performance to inform strategy.Training, Education & Industry Participation (10%)
Plan and deliver training sessions, workshops, and presentations to suppliers, contractors, specifiers, and other stakeholders.Represent the organization at trade shows, industry associations, and community events.Administration & Planning (5%)
Manage CRM pipeline activity, business planning, scheduling, reporting, and vehicle upkeep.Submit expenses and administrative documentation accurately and on time.What You Bring
Experience in building materials, construction products, residential distribution, or contractor-focused sales.Working knowledge of residential construction practices and dealer / contractor channels.Proven success in territory management, account development, or technical product sales.Ability to learn and communicate technical product features and installation concepts.Strong presentation skills for delivering product demonstrations and training.CRM proficiency and disciplined pipeline management.Strong organization, adaptability, and customer-centric communication.Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.Work Environment
