Responsibilities

The responsibilities for this position would include, among other things :

  • Take the lead on executing the monthly financial close process of various subsidiaries and entities for which you are responsible, and identify opportunities to implement practical changes to drive improvements and efficiencies, including;
  • Preparing and execution of routine accounting steps and transactions Preparing and recording of daily and monthly journal entries;
  • Preparing monthly bank reconciliations and loans and interest calculations; Preparing quarterly intepany billings;
  • Assist in various analyses for internal management reporting and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate regularly with operating business groups and with various Brookfield departments to reconcile intepany transactions;
  • Continuously look for efficiency in our processes, tools and reports and make suggestions to implement these into our framework;
  • Assist in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements :

  • Minimum 2 years of progressive work experience in an accounting or auditing function
  • In the process of pursuing CPA designation;
  • Strong financial systems experience, including advanced Excel skills
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills, and the willingness to always support the team
  • Highly organized and able to work in a dynamic,plex and fast-paced environment, as well as adapt quickly to manage changing priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and writtenmunication skills
  • Self-motivated and pro-active, with respect to both managing workload and professional development
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics would be an asset
