WinstonBrock Recruitment, on behalf of our Barrie client, is hiring an Outside Construction Sales – Truck Route Sales representative.

About Our Client : Our client is a well-established Canadian retailer specializing in the sale of power tools, fasteners, abrasives and safety gear, with a primary focus on supporting the construction industry.

Job Summary : As the Outside Route Sales Representative, you will be the face of the company, driving a fully equipped mobile truck with inventory and a point-of-sale (POS) system to service a designated route in Barrie and surrounding areas. Your role will be a blend of sales, customer relationship management, and logistical efficiency, ensuring clients have convenient access to essential construction supplies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mobile Sales & Customer Support : Operate the company’s mobile truck to visit customers on a regular route, process orders on-site, and provide personalized product recommendations.
  • Inventory Management : Ensure the mobile truck is stocked with the necessary products, monitor inventory levels, and coordinate restocking as needed.
  • Relationship Building : Foster strong, long-term partnerships with construction professionals, contractors, and industrial accounts by understanding their project needs and offering tailored solutions.
  • Product Expertise : Provide knowledgeable advice about the company’s range of construction products, including power tools, fasteners, abrasives and safety supplies.
  • Problem Solving : Address customer concerns or questions on the spot, ensuring a high standard of service.
  • Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of construction and industrial products, such as tools, fasteners, abrasives and safety supplies.
  • A proven ability to engage clients, estimate pricing, and recommend tailored solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is essential.
  • Physical stamina to handle lifting (up to 50 lbs) and frequent movement during truck operations.

  • This role operates out of the company’s mobile truck, equipped with POS capabilities and inventory storage.
  • The position involves working independently while servicing a pre-determined customer route.
