Our client, Greatario is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Bolted Tank Construction Leader to join their team. This role is critical in overseeing the successful completion of construction projects across Canada. The ideal candidate will ensure that projects are executed safely, on schedule, and within budget. This position reports directly to the Construction Manager and involves leading a team.
Key Responsibilities
As the Bolted Tank Construction Leader, you will be tasked with overseeing and managing various construction projects. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all projects adhere to company safety policies and standards. You will conduct regular safety inspections and produce detailed reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. You will also be expected to recommend and implement site safety measures to maintain a safe working environment.
In this role, you will coordinate tasks according to project priorities and plans, providing clear direction to your team. You will supervise, train, and mentor workers to ensure that project goals are achieved efficiently and effectively. Your leadership will be key in fostering a productive and cohesive team environment.
You will collaborate closely with Project Managers to ensure that projects are staffed adequately and have the necessary resources. This includes overseeing the use of machinery and equipment and promoting preventive maintenance to minimize downtime. You will also be responsible for managing project budgets, ensuring that expenditures remain within financial limits. Progress reports will be submitted to management regularly, and you will address any issues that arise promptly to keep projects on track.
In addition to your supervisory duties, you will play a hands-on role, spending approximately 50% of your time actively participating in construction activities. This will allow you to provide real-time support and leadership to your team, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency are maintained on all projects.
Requirements
The ideal candidate for this role will have at least 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory or foreman capacity within the bolted tank construction industry. You possess a solid understanding of construction trades, materials, and processes. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to manage time effectively and organize tasks efficiently.
You must demonstrate proven leadership abilities and possess the capability to make sound decisions under pressure. A valid Class G driver’s license is required for this position, and having a Class A license would be a significant advantage.
You should be capable of working both independently and as part of a remote project management team. Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications is essential, as is a thorough understanding of construction procedures, equipment, and safety guidelines. Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant computer applications is also required.
Candidates with experience in bolted or welded steel tank building will be given preference, as will those with site management experience in the Municipal & Industrial Water and Wastewater sectors. Additional certifications or training, such as forklift operation, confined space entry, and fall arrest, will also be considered assets.
