The QC Laboratory Technician position will report to the QC Manager, and will be responsible in supporting the QC laboratory in performing analysis of finished pea protein and related products. The position will be responsible to performing routine, non-routine analysis and other miscellaneous lab related tasks.

Laboratory Activities

  • Perform analysis on finished and feed product as per methods established by quality control department.
  • Maintain laboratories records through logbook and perform result recording in SAP.
  • Communicate analytical data to supervisor daily as directed.
  • Performing analysis on OOS sample. managers, operations, and other relevant parties of OOS issues.
  • Record test results to ensure in-specification and out-of-specification (OOS) products are clearly

identified and segregated.

  • Perform analysis of non-routine samples such as in-process samples from production, waste water and other workshops.
  • Strategic management of retain sample as described in the SOP.
  • Assist in preparation of test reports (e.g., weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.).
  • Ensure laboratory standards as per GLP norms.
  • Assist in maintaining lab inventory.
  • Preparation and management of in-house reagents.
  • Prepare and send samples to external laboratories and other facilities as per requirement.
  • Perform analysis on inter laboratory samples (ILC).
  • Management of lab inventory through SAP.
  • Perform verification and calibration on quality control and workshop laboratories equipment (daily monitoring and recording on SAP).
  • Knowledge of performing maintenance on key equipment’s such as Elementar, NIR, UV-Vis, viscosity mete etc.
  • Participate in yearly reverification program as well as other mandatory trainings.
  • Know and apply the provisions of the Quality Assurance system.
  • Participate in laboratory audits.
  • Follow safe work practices in the laboratories and workshops. Communicate safety issues and challenges regularly with QC team.
  • Ability and willingness to work after hours and weekends

  • Use of laboratory equipment and instrumentation
  • Strong mathematical skill application
  • Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word)
  • In-depth knowledge of instrumental analysis such as protein analyzer, particle size analyzer, UV-ViS, NIR and other equipment
  • Working knowledge of laboratory data acquisition systems such as SAP
  • Able to perform and participate in validation of systems and processes of various protocols.
  • Able to troubleshoot following equipment failure and to perform routine maintenance on lab instruments.
  • Able to collect samples and prepare for various analysis.
  • Able to adhere to GMP and ISO 17025 guidelines.
  • Education :

  • Technical diploma from a recognized college coupled with 3 years’ laboratory experience in the food or related industry
  • B.Sc. / BA in Chemistry, Food Science, Biology, Agriculture or Microbiology or other relatable science degree is highly preferred.
  • 3+ years’ experience required working in a laboratory and performing physic-chemical analysis.
