Vernon Jubilee Hospital (VJH) is a 180 bed regional referral hospital in the Okanagan Valley. Primary responsibilities include admission, daily MRP care and discharge of unattached medical and surgical patients. A daily census of 60-70 inpatients and 6-10 admissions is managed by a team of 3-4 hospitalists supported by a Nurse Practitioner. VJH is a collegial hospital environment with robust sub-speciality support including a fully staffed Department of Internal Medicine and surgical specialities (general, orthopedics, ENT, urology). Hospitalists do not cover Obstetrics / Gynaecology and Pediatrics.

Hours of Coverage : On-site hours are generally 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. with an average of 20 inpatients per physician and a mean length of stay of 3-5 days. Participation in after-hours call is expected but scheduling is flexible.

Compensation : Clinical Service Contract

Locum : 10 hour shift = $1,717.30 / day + MOCAP Level 2. Travel and accommodation expenses are reimbursed.

Qualifications :

• CMPA - Mandatory
• Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) Eligible - Mandatory
• Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) - Desired
• Current College of Physicians of BC License – Provisional
