Job descriptionMaintain compliance with and enforce property standards, rules, and regulations in a professional and reasonable manner Utilize tact, diplomacy, and sound judgment while on duty Respond to medical emergencies and provide First Aid, CPR, or AED support until medical professionals arrive Maintain and enforce access control procedures Demonstrate a solid understanding of emergency response and standard operating procedures Address trespassers and unauthorized persons in a fair, calm, and safe manner Conduct regular patrols of the property on foot Monitor CCTV surveillance systems Investigate incidents, occurrences, and suspicious activities Prepare detailed incident and occurrence reports and maintain accurate memo book entries Maintain the safety, security, and peace of patrons, staff, and clients De-escalate conflict, emergency, and crisis situations Assist emergency responders and law enforcement personnel as required Perform access control, line management, and customer service duties Support daily security and site operations as directed Minimum 6 months of prior security experience required Experience in Retail Security or Loss Prevention is considered a strong asset Must be able to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods (8–12 hours) Strong verbal and written communication skills Fluent in English (spoken and written) Demonstrates a high level of professionalism and reliability Proactive approach to on-site situations and potential risks Ability to retain and follow instructions provided by management Capable of handling high-stress situations and making sound decisions under pressure Comfortable working in a fast-paced, busy, and highly populated retail environment High attention to detail and strong observational skills Strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and ability to work effectively within a team Willingness to accept constructive feedback First Aid Level 1 is an asset but not mandatory
