As a key member of the Canadian Team, the IT Application Engineer will be critical to the strategic and operational development of the IT function during the start-up and ramp-up of Hilton Foods Canada.
This role is critical in building a high-performing, engaged, and inclusive workforce that supports the company’s growth and operational excellence.

Purpose of the role :
The role of the IT Applications Engineer is to support and optimise the suite of applications used across our food production operations. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability and performance of systems such as ERP, production planning, traceability, and quality control tools that underpin day-to-day manufacturing and supply chain activities.
Strategic direction and line management to the role will be provided by IT Service Delivery Manager and IT Application & Data Services Director.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Provide hands-on support for core business applications, particularly ERP systems used for production scheduling, inventory, procurement, and quality assurance.
- Act as the first point of contact for application-related issues within the production environment, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to understand system requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Manage application configurations, user access, and system integrations with equipment and other platforms.
- Support traceability and compliance by ensuring data integrity and system availability for audits and reporting.
- Document workflows, procedures, and support materials for end users and IT colleagues ,including;
- Application support documentation.
- Technical design, implementation and configuration documentation.
- User training material.
- Participate in testing and deployment of application updates or new modules.
- Promote use of IT systems to support increase of operational and financial efficiency of the company.
- Cooperate with Regional / Group functions (Infrastructure, PMO, Transformation, Service Delivery) in efforts to implement and improve standard Hilton IT solutions.
- Maintaining good cooperation and communication between business users and IT team.
- Implements system changes and administers access to systems and data utilising approved information technology security policies, standards and guidelines.
- Manage and plan a schedule for the safe introduction of new applications / releases / patches to meet new requirements.
- As a subject matter expert, liaise with Suppliers, end-users, internal / external key stakeholders to ensure existing applications are optimised to meet business needs.
- Demonstrate an advanced level of application knowledge across variety of platforms – example : ERP, CRM, WMS, WCS.
- Provide escalation support to Service Delivery Team for Application based incidents, problems and challenges.
KEY EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Understanding of ERP systems, including Evolve (to be included in training) in a manufacturing or food production context.Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure in a live production environment.Good understanding of data flows, system integration, and user access management.Effective communication skills to liaise with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders on the shop floor.Effective communication skillsEffective organisational skillsDemonstratable knowledge of major enterprise business software i.e. ERP, WMS, SAPProblem-solving ability.Ability to prioritise work in a reactive and proactive environment.Understands the importance of Security and Standards.Desirable :
