Paul’s Hospital slated to open in 2027.
JOIN OUR CLINICAL NUTRITION TEAM
We are looking for Dietitians to join our growing Nutrition Department! We are a team of over 70 Dietitians working in a variety of provincially recognized programs including Cardiac, Renal, Eating Disorders, Cystic Fibrosis and Home Parenteral Nutrition.
We are currently looking for passionate and motivated Dietitians to work at St. Pauls’ Hospital in downtown Vancouver, BC.
Reporting to the Professional Practice Leader, Clinical Nutrition or the Operations Leader, under the clinical direction of the Professional Practice Leader prescribes, implements, evaluates and documents the appropriate patient / resident nutritional care plan in accordance with professional standards and within the Mission, Vision, Values and strategic direction of Providence Health Care.
Qualifications / Skills and Education
Education, Training and Experience
Bachelors Degree in Food and Nutrition from a recognized University. Dietetic internship from an accredited program. Current registration with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia (CDBC).
Restricted Activities A, B, & / or C may be required as listed on the posting. (Parenteral duties associated with Restricted Activity B would be coded up to Grade 2 as per the Operating Instructions).

Knowledge of legislation and government policies and procedures related to healthcare.

Duties and Responsibilities
3.1 Evaluates nutritional status / risk of patients / residents and develops / prescribes, implements, evaluates (initial and ongoing), and documents an appropriate nutritional care plan;
collaborates and provides direction to nutrition staff as the plan is implemented with the patient / resident.
3.2 Contributes to an inter-disciplinary approach to patient / resident care and program related issues by attending ward rounds and team conferences to exchange information related to patient / resident care and discharge planning.
3.3 Instructs and / or counsels patients / residents and family members in nutritional issues such as diet modifications and lifestyle changes.
3.4 Determines, refers and / or liaises with community based nutritional resources as required to ensure that patient / resident care issues are addressed.
3.5 Participates in quality improvement activities by providing input into the development, implementation, and evaluation of written procedures and standards, assessment forms, and patient / resident materials, program descriptions, audit tools and clinical guidelines for Nutrition Services and relevant clinical programs.
3.6 Completes required patient / resident documentation, forms and reports and documents workload statistics.
3.7 Collaborates with departmental and other team members to organize in-service education, to identify the need for and to participate in educational programs by preparing educational materials and making presentations.
3.8 Provides clinical education and supervision to students and dietetic interns.
3.9 Maintains knowledge of current developments in clinical nutrition by reviewing professional literature, consulting with other professionals and actively participating in relevant educational programs.
3.10 Supports clinical research activities by generating questions, assisting in writing proposals, and participating in data collection and interpretation, within departmental resources.
3.11 Monitors and controls levels of supplies and equipment. Reports equipment malfunctions and arranges for equipment maintenance.
3.12 Performs other related duties as assigned.
