JOB DESCRIPTION

The HR Manager will lead HR programs to ensure they align with company objectives and compliance requirements. This role includes managing the entire employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to performance management and employee development. The HR Manager will also be responsible for training staff on HR policies and best practices, resolving conflicts, and addressing employee grievances to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE :

  • Develop and enforce HR policies and procedures to align with company objectives and legal standards.
  • Oversee the entire employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance reviews, and offboarding.
  • Support payroll operations by working closely with the payroll manager to ensure accuracy, timely payments, and compliance with tax and labor laws.
  • Manage employee benefits programs, including healthcare, retirement plans, and leave administration.
  • Serve as the primary contact for employee relations, resolving conflicts, and promoting a positive work environment.
  • Lead health and safety initiatives to create a secure and compliant workplace.
  • Work closely with union representatives to address grievances and maintain positive labor relations.
  • Facilitate succession planning by identifying key talent and coordinating with management on future leadership needs.
  • Ensure full compliance with labor laws and workplace regulations through regular audits and updates.
  • Organize and drive employee engagement activities to strengthen team cohesion and morale.
  • Maintain comprehensive employee records and ensure accurate payroll documentation and HR files.
  • THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION ARE :

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in HR
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, workplace safety, payroll processes, and operational best practices.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to think strategically and act pragmatically.
  • Good experience with payroll software, MS Office Suite, and project management tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Canadian retail, food service, and packaging product distribution markets, is an asset.
  • Fluency in English and French (verbal and written).
  • Different combinations of relevant experience and education may be considered.
