THE ROLE
Over 250,000 readers in 16 communities rely on Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Newspapers to report on operations, Morale and Welfare programs and the community at large. CFB Esquimalt’s own newspaper - The Lookout - is the primary source of information for Pacific Navy news for the past 80 years. The Lookout Newspaper publishes in print bi-weekly to the Defence community plus online and via social media.
We are looking for a dynamic, independent and motivated individual to join our team!
As the PSP Digital Media and Marketing Coordinator you will plan, develop, publish and measure social media content (text, visuals, photo, videos) across a variety of platforms and ensure content aligns with the social media strategy and business goals. You will develop and maintain a social media content calendar and make recommendations to maximize the social media strategy. You will create, monitor and help grow business presence across marketing channels such as, but not limited to, print advertising, newsletters, social networks and social sharing sites.
The PSP Digital Media and Marketing Coordinator will monitor social networks and local websites for potential issues or opportunities.
As a talented self-starter, you work independently with multi-media and can show your design expertise using desktop publishing software to organize the layout of the newspaper. The PSP Digital Media and Marketing Coordinator will be conducting research, writing and reporting news for feature stories as well as taking photographs of events for publication.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
College diploma or certificate in Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field
Experience
In planning, organizing, developing, delivering, and evaluating marketing opportunity and initiative
In social media platforms and trends
In writing content for social media
In researching and developing marketing focused social media and email marketing initiatives
In impact and social media trends analysis
In making recommendation and providing advice in marketing
In applying policies, procedures, and regulations
In writing feature stories for print and web publication
Competencies
Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.
