Position Title : Early Childhood Educator, Substitute Locations : Albion (Maple Ridge), Donna Gabriel Robins (Langley), and Surrey City (Surrey), YMCA Child Care Centers.
Terms : On-Call / Casual 0-35 hours / week Shift : Monday to Friday, shifts vary from 6 : 45am -6 : 00pm Salary : $23.20 per hour for ECE License ( Plus an additional $6 per hour for Licensed ECE’s as per the Provincial Government’s Wage Enhancement Initiative) Start Date : As soon as possible

Nature & Scope :
We are seeking a caring and creative Early Childhood Educator to provide a safe and engaging experience for all children at the YMCA.
Following the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum, the educator plans and leads activities based on the interests and the developmental level of the children in our care.
Major Responsibilities :
- Provide quality care and creative programming to children
- Build meaningful and positive relationships with children and families
- Work with your team to create a supportive and safe environment for both staff and families
- Deliver high quality and age-appropriate programs based on the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum
- Provide active supervision at all times and work as a team to support transitions between play areas
- Use our parent communication app (Weemarkable) to provide daily communication and updates
- Keep a clean and safe environment in all program areas and common spaces
- Follow all YMCA, Child Care Facility Licensing (CCFL) and legal requirements, including YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum standards
Qualifications / Experience :
- Basic ECEA / ECE certification from a program recognized in British Columbia
- Infant Toddler Educator (ITE) License is an asset
- Special Needs Educator (SNE) is an asset
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Any training related to child growth and development is an asset
- Emergency First Aid and CPR-C & AED certificate required (can be obtained with in 30 days after start date)
- 3 professional reference checks to be completed
- Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Reference Check / Vulnerable Sector Search issued no later than six (6) months preceding your start date
