What you’ll be doing :

As a Laundry Aide you will do meaningful work everyday ensuring a safe and clean environment for residents’. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.

Providing clothing and linen support services by ensuring collection, distribution, processing and inventory of linens and personal clothingSorting linens, loading and unloading washers and dryers, ironing and mending as requiredFolding, sorting and loading linen and clothing onto carts for distribution and delivery and auditing linen for labels and repairsDiscarding and recording inappropriate inventory when necessaryMaintaining high sanitation standards, a clean and tidy work area and equipment applying appropriate infection control protocols as required, follows cleaning schedules and routines for the department and ensures the proper care and economical use of resourcesObserving operation of machines and reporting malfunctioning to team leaderAssisting in maintaining laundry facilities, equipment and suppliesCompleting cleaning duties as outlined in the laundry room areaMaintaining a clean, safe environment for residents utilizing infection control principlesSupporting and participating in quality initiatives by providing input and suggestions for improvement, reporting feedback to immediate team leaderPerforming other duties as assignedWhat you need to know :
Secondary school graduate or equivalentKnowledge related to infection control, cleaning practices, housekeeping operations and equipmentAbility to work independently or as a teamAbility to communicate effectively with team members and residentsYou must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work / study permitYou must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records CheckSienna Senior Living may utilize artificial Intelligence to screen or assess applicants for this positionSienna Senior Living is committed to employment equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace.
