AFIMAC Canada is actively hiring experienced Machine Set Up Specialist for an upcoming assignment in the GTA. This position will require you to work 12 hour shifts, 4 days per week when assigned to a project.
Please note this is a temporary contract position, so it may not be suitable to someone currently working full time
You will earn :
- $36 per hour before overtime
- $30 per day non-taxed meal allowance (when lodging is required)
- Paid Travel (up to 4 hours)
- Hotel Accommodations Provided (when required)
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Set up machines / tools on thermoforming machines
- Perform product testing to ensure quality standards are met
- Follow lock out / tag out procedures
- Trouble shotting / Monitoring of equipment for malfunctions
- Lift and relocate materials as required.
- Complete required paperwork / documentation
- Housekeeping duties as required for a safe work environment (maintain a 5S work environment)
Skills & Qualifications :
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in thermoforming / plastics processing
- Knowledge of 5S work environment
- Licensed to operate narrow aisle forklift and overhead crane (preferred)
- Lock out / tag out experience
- Strong working knowledge of plastic molds and measuring equipment
- Strong mathematics and technical aptitude
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Physically able to bend, lift, stand and reach
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision as well as part of a team
- Basic computer skills
- Fluent command of the English language (both written and verbal)
