HR Generalist

We are looking for an experienced HR Generalist to join our clients team in Langley, British Columbia, on a short term contract. In this role, you will support various HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, and benefits administration, while ensuring adherence to company policies and union agreements. This is an on-site position within the food manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities :

• Manage the hourly recruitment process, including interviewing, onboarding, and orientation.
• Track and report HR metrics, such as headcount, hiring statistics, and hours worked, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
• Post employee communications, such as announcements and updates, across all company locations.
• Maintain and update union seniority lists, disciplinary records, and immigration tracking.
• Assist with investigations by conducting interviews and gathering statements when required.
• Support the coordination of company events alongside HR and Operations teams.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and union agreements while promoting best practices.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee files in both electronic and paper formats.
• Input daily data into the time tracking system and notify management of any discrepancies.
• Coordinate payroll and benefits administration, including tracking probationary periods, leave management, and benefits paperwork.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Human Resources role, preferably within a unionized environment.
• Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now and other HR-related software.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees at all levels.
• Demonstrated experience in full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, and orientation processes.
• Knowledge of benefits administration and leave management procedures.
• Ability to manage employee relations and investigations with professionalism and discretion.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Familiarity with collective agreements and union processes is highly desirable.
