Job Summary

Reporting to the Vehicle Systems Engineering Manager, the Electrical Engineer will play an important role in the design and development of battery packs and heavy‑drive electric vehicles. This position will be filled in either Dallas TX or Kelowna BC.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Vehicle Systems Engineering Manager, create design concepts, determine nature and type of required detailed working drawings, and coordinate work with others.
• Collaborate with the software engineering team to generate input / output tables and system architecture / functions list based on the selected component requirements.
• Collaborate with hardware engineering teams and suppliers to ensure functionality of components within the system.
• Develop electrical systems including wiring diagrams, fuse sizing, cable and connector selection, etc.
• Assist in development of DFMEA and functional safety case.
• Complete DVP and support testing for new electrical / mechanical / software sub‑systems.
• Fabricate functional prototypes for engineering testing and validation.
• Work with assembly / test technicians to move electrical designs through the development phase into validation and production phases.
• Assure product quality by designing electrical testing methods; testing finished products and system capabilities.
• Organize and sometimes lead project update presentations and design reviews.

In accordance with the Pay Transparency Act of British Columbia, we anticipate this position will pay a salary range of : $70,000 – $95,000 CAD. The compensation posted is a guide and may not represent the final amount offered to a candidate. Compensation will be based on candidate skills, qualifications, and overall experience level. Compensation at Hexagon Purus includes base salary, comprehensive benefits package, variable annual bonus, and 6% RRSP match.
