Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer who is responsible for the analysis, design, installation, and optimization of electrical systems including power distribution, control systems, and electronic components. The position requires strong problem-solving skills, proficiency in engineering software, and adherence to regulatory and safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement electrical systems for solar energy projects, including PV arrays, inverters, and storage solutions.
- Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation for solar installations.
- Perform load calculations, energy yield analysis, and system sizing.
- Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of solar power systems.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, renewable energy standards, and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with project managers, civil engineers, and contractors to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Troubleshoot and maintain solar systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Stay updated on emerging solar technologies and industry best practices.
Skills Education and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.Registered Professional Engineer, Professional Licensee, or Engineer-in-Training in Alberta.Minimum 8-10 years experience in solar PV system design and implementation.CSA Solar Training - "Construction Electrician (NOC 7241) Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems Certified" - Considered an asset.Work Environment
