Position Overview :
We are seeking a creative and innovative Graphic Design Intern to join our team. This intern will support the design and production of visual assets for a variety of event marketing materials, including promotional campaigns, social media content, email templates, and event collateral. The ideal candidate will also bring experience or an interest in web design, contributing to the development and enhancement of event landing pages, interactive forms, and other web-based assets to improve user engagement and overall attendee experience.
Key Responsibilities :
- Creative Design : Develop high-quality graphics for event materials, including digital banners, e-blasts, social media posts, signage, and PowerPoint templates.
- Brand Consistency : Ensure all designs adhere to organizational branding guidelines while reflecting the unique themes and goals of each event.
- Content Collaboration : Work closely with the Director, Events to conceptualize and execute creative ideas that enhance event messaging and attendee engagement.
- Digital Media : Design visually compelling assets for social media platforms, web graphics, and email campaigns to promote upcoming events and engage audiences. Support the development and editing of video content, including highlight reels, teaser videos, and social media clips, utilizing basic video editing skills to enhance event promotions.
- Web Design : Assist in creating and updating web-based assets, such as event landing pages, and interactive forms ensuring responsive and user-friendly designs that align with event branding.
- Production Support : Assist in preparing materials for print and digital use, ensuring optimal resolution, file formats, and quality standards are met.
- Innovation : Contribute fresh ideas and stay informed on design trends to elevate the creative impact of event marketing materials.
- Organization : Maintain an organized repository of design assets, manage project timelines effectively, and assist with administrative tasks to support the design and marketing process.
Qualifications :
Currently pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Canva.Familiarity with digital and print design best practices.Experience with web design tools and platforms (e.g., WordPress, Wix or Adobe XD) and an understanding of responsive design principles.Basic knowledge of video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) is a plus.Strong portfolio showcasing design skills and creativity.Exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.Interest in event marketing and a passion for storytelling through design.Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, with good organizational skills. You are Registered as a domestic student in a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution.Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or persons to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.Legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant federal, provincial, or territorial legislation and regulations.Registered in a program or course with a WIL (co-op) component as part of their study plan.Undertaking a placement that is recognized as work-integrated learning in connection with a course, degree, certificate, diploma, or other recognized program offered by the institution.
