1 Position : High School Teacher

Alexis Board of Education is looking for a High School Teacher for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. We are looking for a teacher who can build on the current strengths of our school and is focused on providing a balanced education through the delivery of approved curriculum that is grounded in traditional Alexis Nakota Sioux teachings.

Our student population is approximately 137 from grades 7 to 12, our Native language is Nakota (Stoney) and we are located an hour northwest of the City of Edmonton and 30 minutes from the City of Spruce Grove. The successful applicant will begin duties at the commencement of the 2025-2026 school year; a competitive salary based on qualification, skills and experience will be paid.

Qualifications :

• Must provide TQS
• Must possess a Bachelor of Education degree from an accredited institution;
• Minimum of 1 year teaching experience
• Must be able to teach all core subjects,
• Must be able to teach Compulsory high school subjects;
• Preference is given to those with experience working with First Nations Children and Families;
• Must be respectful of Nakota Sioux Traditions, Knowledge and Customs;
• Preference is given to those with experience working with First Nations Children and Families;
• Must have a clear criminal record and child-welfare check.
• Background in Science and Math is an asset.
• Coaching experience in sports is an asset.
