2024-020 1.0 FTE Continuing Halq’emeylem Language Teacher

INTERNAL / EXTERNAL POSTING No. 2024-020E AGASSIZ AREA 1.0 F.T.E. CONTINUING LANGUAGE TEACHER A 1.0 F.T.E. Continuing Language Instructor is required effective September 1, 2024. The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching Halq’emeylem to students in the Agassiz area. The successful applicant must possess : a valid B.C. Teaching Certificate or a Halq’emeylem language fluency sufficient for the Language Authority to recommend an Indigenous Language Teaching Certificate; have adequate training and experience with Halq’emeylem Language; have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; have knowledge and respect of Halq’emeylem Culture and Traditions; have strong leadership skills; display strong classroom management skills; experience working with Indigenous Students, their families, and communities; successfully pass a Criminal Record Check; a valid B.C. Driver’s License and vehicle for travelling between schools / locations.
