EBC is seeking an Office Project Engineer for our civil division in Vancouver where they can utilize their extensive knowledge to contribute to the continued success and growth of the organization.
The Office Project Engineer will assist the Estimator, Project Manager, and other operations staff members with preconstruction pursuits such as Request for Qualifications, Request for Proposals and Early Contractor Involvement. Other responsibilities include :
Review various documentation including civil and environmental reports, drawings, technical memorandum, and technical specifications
Lead communication with subcontractors and other departments to obtain quotes, evaluate alternatives and incorporate technical requirements
Assist with RFIs, method statement, procedures and other technical documents
Identify project concerns and alert management of potential risks on assigned projects and develop a plan to minimize detrimental impacts and mitigate risks
Assist the Project Management team in the overall planning and scheduling
Assist in the development or review of temporary works
Assist the PM in all functions and operations of project including compliance with local legislative and labor requirements
Assist with conceptual estimating of preliminary preconstruction pursuits
Lead the Permit Management process
Monitor the overall progress of the project on an ongoing basis and take corrective action where necessary
Ensures that Company policies and procedures are followed
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geotechnical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Technical background with professional accreditation (P.Eng / EIT, CET) or combination of technical training and / or related experience;
3 years minimum experience in construction, estimating or design
Experience in civil works
Experience in underground works, is an asset
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical design drawings
