About the Role — The Regional Business Director (RBD) will be responsible for driving the performance and strategic direction of two key HLS franchises — Cardiology and Neuroscience —while also leading account management and market access strategies in Ontario .

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) , the RBD will initially oversee a team that includes a dedicated Associate Regional Sales Manager for Cardiovascular and three Specialty Sales Representatives focused on Neuroscience . This leader will ensure seamless execution of brand strategies and effective deployment of key account activation plans that align with overall business objectives. The role demands a strong commercial leader who can inspire, coach, and empower the field sales team and front-line managers to build high-impact, strategic partnerships with key stakeholders. Additionally, the RBD must be adept at identifying and activating account-level opportunities to maximize business potential. As a core member of the Commercial Leadership team , the RBD will also contribute to broader strategic initiatives aimed at driving the growth and success of HLS.

Territory— Ontario. Position requires travel ~50% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve all regional business objectives including sales goals and market share growth.
  • Ensure appropriate promotion of HLS product(s) and services with key opinion leaders, targeted specialists and healthcare professionals by the sales representatives.
  • Develop plan to optimize pull through of existing market access agreements and lead the negotiation and implementation of new agreements specific to the province.
  • Identify the needs of regional accounts and collaborate with the extended HLS team to deliver solutions at the account level that benefit patients, healthcare professionals and HLS.
  • Develop, execute, and track a regional business plan.
  • Communicate and collaborate with all cross functional team members to ensure optimal alignment on business opportunities and priorities.
  • Maintain a current level of knowledge on assigned products and disease areas.
  • Analyze and report on sales, medical education, monthly plans, call activity and budgets.
  • Lead, Coach, Motivate and Train the team to ensure the appropriate implementation of marketing strategies and business planning
  • Impacts positively the engagement, development, retention and productivity of the team to achieve the highest business performance
  • Keep current on relevant matters including company business, policy and procedures to ensure 100% compliant implementation.
  • Manage and control expenses to maximize return on investment.
  • Participate as a member of internal strategic cross functional team, providing field insights to help drive brand strategies and tactics.
  • Act as a role model for the HLS values & behaviours and commercial ethical practices (compliance to Innovative Medicines Canada, Code of conduct, etc.).

Qualifications

  • University degree, health sciences or business administration preferable.
  • 8-10 years sales leadership experience with a strong record of achievement.
  • Prior account management experience required.
  • At least two (2) years’ experience in a hospital, specialty is preferred.
  • Past experience in marketing and / or market access is an asset.
  • Past experience in either cardiology or neuroscience is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and empower teams to work in agile manner.
  • Excellent communication, coaching and presentation skills.
  • Results-oriented and customer focused.
  • Highly energetic and self-motivated.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with various groups and commitment to teamwork.
  • Proven business acumen including strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Valid driver's license
