Notes on Location :

Resource will work in a hybrid manner with a minimum of 3 days in office as above, though must be available for onsite meetings when required.

Security Specific :

  • Provide leadership to develop, advise, consult, and manage the design and implementation of information security strategies and controls to ensure consistent plans and security requirements are established to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of Courts assets.
  • Participate in the ongoing development and implementation of security strategies, plans and security services to mitigate security risks across the Courts.
  • Design a set of specific security services or capabilities to support the business and maintain information security across the Courts . For services that may be outsourced, develop requirements for procurement documentation.
  • Advanced technical writing skills and experience in relation to developing IT security policies and procurement contracts and tenders.
  • Superior IT project management skills and a thorough practical knowledge of project management methodology to enable scheduling and control of several projects simultaneously.
  • Specific knowledge in M365-E5 security, firewall technology, security practice, LAN / WAN internet-working technology, security tools, methods, systems and protocols, networking and application protocols, router IOS’s and intrusion prevention systems is essential.

Project Management Specific :

  • Develop and manage all aspects of project and program engagement from planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks and issues in collaboration with the senior leadership team and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders and schedule meetings.
  • Prepare presentations for engagement with stakeholders, steering committees, project groups and other stakeholders.
  • Manage tasks and action items and follow up and escalate as required.
  • Provide support by bridging communication between external stakeholders, the Alberta Courts, Technology, and innovation teams, etc.
  • Coordinate approvals and signoffs.
  • Track and monitor scope and timelines for delivery of data product(s); and
  • Analyze and report on progress. Communicate project status and all relevant information to stakeholders.
  • Duties :

  • Responsible for the design and implementation planning for the Courts Security Program including strategic planning, design, procurement and implementation .
  • Oversees all aspects of the project. Builds an effective operating environment, defines project objectives, scope, and guiding principles, conducts comprehensive analysis of the projects, monitors and summarizes progress of the projec t. Builds and maintains working relationships with Courts stakeholders, project vendors, and GoA departments involved in the project. Prepares reports for management regarding status of project.
  • Compile project charters and business / project plans with clear objectives and expected project outcomes to support activities, including the most suitable approach to be used in the development of each deliverable and work product, to ensure business objectives and data integrity are achieved.
  • Manage project(s) that will document business requirements, design and deliver IT solutions that are compliant with and contribute to the organization’s enterprise architecture and security posture.
  • Assist with the development of recommendations including providing details of resource requirements, dependencies, interdependencies, policy implications pertaining to internal / external influences and the methodology to be applied.
  • Produce and package deliverables for presentation to various internal support teams, steering committee, and other project stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple tasks, project resources and project governance.
  • Conduct consultations with key internal Courts stakeholders and Ministry of Justice stakeholders
  • Work with project vendors to ensure that effective project communication exists through the duration of the project including escalation of risks as required.
  • Take responsibility for ongoing client satisfaction – manage peer-level client relationships and overcome hurdles to ensure win-win solutions.
  • Coordinate with leadership to develop a well-defined project plans that clearly states the project’s objectives, scope, assumptions, timeline, resource requirements, risks, benefits and budget.
