Job description

We're seeking a Mechanical Setup Technician to join our client's team in Strathroy. This is a  Permanent Direct Hire position.  What We Offer :

  • Salary : $26 - $29 / hr depending on experience
  • Job Type / Shift : Permanent Full Time Continental shifts (6 am – 6 pm & 6 pm – 6 am)

What You'll Do :

  • Install, adjust, and troubleshoot packaging production machinery and equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal machine performance.
  • Conduct machine tests to verify proper setup and functionality.
  • Collaborate with production teams to meet manufacturing goals.
  • Maintain detailed records of machine setups and maintenance activities.
  • Train and mentor team members and operators on the effective operation of packaging machines.
  • Maintain equipment parts lists and manuals, determining necessary parts required for routine maintenance and necessary parts required for inventory to ensure maximum production time.
  • Collaborate with millwrights and contractors on complex repairs.
  • Must work in compliance with all established safe work practices and procedures.

    • What We're Looking For :

  • Minimum of 3 years direct experience as a Mechanical Setup Technician or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills and relevant experience on resume
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs if needed
  • Ability to climb ladders or stairs if needed
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Have reliable transportation.
