QUALIFICATIONS :

Education, Training And Experience

A level of training, education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related healthcare field and five (5) years of related experience.

Knowledge and experience with quality improvement, long-term care, and / or infection prevention and control preferred. Relevant certification also preferred such as Gerontology Nursing Certificate (GNC) or equivalent, Quality Improvement or Change management certificate.

  • Demonstrated teaching skills using a coaching approach
  • Knowledge of adult education and learning principles
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to work under time constraints and prioritize workload effectively
  • Ability to work independently using own initiative and to make decisions guided by standards of practice, Public Health and WorkSafeBC regulation, and health authority policies and procedures
  • Comprehensive understanding of healthcare technology and work processes
  • Demonstrated commitment to client-focused services and teamwork
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats
  • Superior investigative, analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to teach in both individual and large group settings
  • Ability to interact with others effectively, often in highly charged emotional states
  • Ability to maintain confidences of personal employee health files and matters
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to operate a PC utilizing MS Office software applications and databases
  • Physical ability to carry out the position
  • Valid BC Driver's License
