What You Will Do
- Design, build, and maintain Python-based systems that run on our printers, including device agents, APIs, and internal services
- Develop and improve our embedded Linux environment, including Yocto-based OS builds, system configuration, and deployment processes
- Build automation and tooling that supports our in-house manufacturing line and factory operations
- Improve and maintain CI and build pipelines, including GitHub Actions and OS build workflows
- Troubleshoot production issues on deployed printers using logs, CLI tools, and remote access, and implement durable fixes
- Design software systems that are maintainable, testable, secure, and resilient, avoiding fragile or ad-hoc solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, manufacturing, and customer-facing teams to solve complex problems
- Create tools and processes that prevent issues and make debugging faster and more reliable when problems do occur
What We Are Looking For
3+ years of professional experience developing production software with PythonStrong, hands-on experience with Linux systems, including shell scripting, systemd, filesystems, networking, and securityExperience working with embedded Linux environments, ideally Yocto or similar build systemsSolid understanding of networking and security concepts, including troubleshooting connectivity issues and reducing attack surfacesExperience with virtualization or containerization technologies such as Docker, as well as CI / CD and build toolingProven ability to troubleshoot complex production issues using logs, tooling, and systematic problem-solvingStrong software engineering fundamentals, including code structure, testing, documentation, and long-term maintainabilityExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholdersComfort working in a fast-paced startup environment with evolving prioritiesAbility to work in Montreal and be present in the office 3 to 5 days per week for hands-on testing with physical machinesLocation and Work Model
