The hiring BFP location in Markham is an industry leading build-to-order manufacturer of custom Hydraulic Power Units & Manifolds for various industrial and mobile applications. We are currently looking for a Senior Hydraulic System Designer to join our team.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Analyze data, supporting documents and proposed product specifications to determine feasibility with customer’s requirements and generate accurate cost estimates
- Create and review conceptual schematics and layout drawings alongside specifications provided by the customer to confirm they meet functional, performance and dimensional provisions
- Confer with engineering, customer and / or sales to clarify or resolve issues & details not defined
- Determine labor and cost requirements and prepare itemized material lists to formulate estimates
- Oversee and approve drafting of general arrangement drawings, schematics & detail machine drawings according to sales and / or customer specifications
- Reviews drawings and supporting documents to verify adherence to BFP and industry standard practices
- Maintain existing business by working with BFP and vendor personnel to ensure that the necessary materials are available & paperwork is completed to obtain customer satisfaction
- Assist and support shop with testing and troubleshooting of hydraulic power units
- Ensure general assembly drawings and schematics match the final unit build
- Oversee and manage projects from quote stage to start up
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications include : Experience with hydraulics system design, hydraulic power unit component selection, hydraulic systems controls, proportional valves, and actual hands on start-up and troubleshooting experience
The successful candidate will have AutoCAD experience and possess basic electrical control concept skills.
REQUIREMENTS :
Engineering degree or demonstrated equivalent via formal training and experience.Five years (+) experience with Hydraulic Systems and Controls Design / Estimating.Certified Fluid Power Specialist (or equivalent work experience) is a plusExcellent communication skills, problem solving, prioritization and organizational skills needed.Excellent PC skillsCAD / CAE and other computer design equipment proficiency.Technical skills necessary to prepare and / or revise drawings, sketches, plans and schematics in accordance with specific forms, using current version of Auto CadWHAT WE CAN GIVE TO YOU
