Duties
Statistics Canada conducts over 2.5 million interviews with Canadians every year. The Data Collection Clerk is part of a team supporting the collection of survey data covering a variety of topics such as health, labor, housing, environment, culture, business and economic. They help produce key information that provides a solid foundation to governments, businesses, unions and non-profit organizations, as well as individual Canadians for making informed decisions
In this job you will :
Be responsible for data collection related activities involving Statistics Canada survey participants across Canada. Daily activities could involve, but are not limited to, the following tasks :

EDUCATION
Successful completion of secondary school according to provincial standards or approved alternatives. An acceptable combination of education, training and / or experience may be accepted.
An acceptable combination is defined as : Successful completion of 2 years of secondary school and a minimum of 2 years of working experience obtained through the private or public sector, community work, volunteer work, self-employment or other.
EXPERIENCE
Experience in dealing with the public, either by telephone or in person (e.g., call center, front line customer service responding to requests for information, helpdesk, technical support, etc.)
Experience in the utilization of various computer software packages and applications to perform daily tasks such as launching applications, performing research, opening / closing / locating / editing of documents and / or files, uploading information and running software programs. This may include specialized software & applications, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.), word processing and various research tools.
