Mayor and CAO Summer Student (SS.26.01)

Position Description :

• Provide a high level of administrative assistance to the CAO, Mayor and Councilors in a complex political environment, by coordinating schedules, booking appointments, obtaining information and preparing research. Collaborate and interface with the Chief Administrative Officer / Staff to represent the County.
• Provide exceptional customer service, respond to inquiries and liaise with local officials, local boards, government agencies, outside organizations, staff and public, and provide follow-up as needed.
• Foster productive public relations and engagement as a community interface, while providing exceptional customer service.
• Administer the functions of the Office of the Mayor and ensure that the Mayor is kept fully informed on all matters requiring attention.
• Enhance and update website information for Corporation.

Note :

Employment is conditional upon : attendance at all training sessions, submission of required documentation / certification, adherence to the minimum age requirements and ability to meet the employment term

At time of application must be enrolled in a post-secondary education institution or institution of higher learning.

Applicants must submit a criminal record check (dated within the last 3 months) from their local police service for approval prior to commencing employment

Duration :

The duration of this contract will be approximately 4 months.  Applicants are expected to fulfill the entire contract period commencing April 29, 2026, until August 28, 2026.
