  • Shunter Driver On-Call PositionAs a shunter driver, you’ll be responsible for the safe movement and parking of trailers around our often tight sites. The job role of a shunter driver involves the following duties :   - Ensuring the safe movement of large vehicles and trailers (53’ dry box, flat beds and other custom trailers) around a construction site;- Adhering to health and safety guidelines;- Inspecting vehicles and trailers;- Coupling and uncoupling trailers;- Safely parking trailers;- Maneuvering loaded and empty trailers;- Showing respect and concern for work equipment;- Being autonomous, available, cautious, courteous, and resourceful;- Assist with other duties as assigned by supervisor Requirements : - Valid driver's license with appropriate class and endorsements and valid to drive in N-America (Canada, USA, Mexico);- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position;- Experience in operating trucks and trailers;- Ability to maneuver vehicles in tight spaces;- Experience in driving heavy machinery and loading and unloading will be an asset;- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures;- Good communication skills to coordinate with dispatcher and other team members;- Flexibility to work varied hours and shifts, including at times, nights, weekends and holidays;- Ability to drive an automatic and manual transmission trucks and shunt trucks;- Have good skills to maneuver equipment in reverse;- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job including, but not limited to : coupling and uncoupling trailers, climbing in and out of vehicles crouching, kneeling, standing, lifting, sometimes for extended amounts of time; lifting at least 75lbs unassisted, etc.; Full list of essential functions will be sent in the offer.
