The GTI Group is seeking an experienced and results-driven Account Representative for our transportation and logistics division. The Account Representative will be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with our clients, coordinating freight bookings, negotiating with carriers, and ensuring seamless end-to-end logistics operations. You will play a critical role in ensuring the satisfaction of our customers by providing high-quality service, and you will collaborate closely with operations and sales teams to meet company objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Relationship Management : Act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, ensuring their logistics needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Freight Booking and Coordination : Book freight, manage shipments, and coordinate transportation services, ensuring on-time delivery while managing logistics from pickup to delivery.
- Carrier Negotiation : Develop and maintain relationships with carriers, negotiate rates and terms, and ensure adherence to company policies and client expectations.
- Problem‑Solving : Proactively address any issues related to transportation, carrier performance, or customer concerns to maintain customer satisfaction.
- Pricing and Quotations : Provide pricing and quotation support to the sales team, leveraging industry knowledge and market trends to ensure competitive rates.
- Reporting and Analytics : Track shipments, analyze performance metrics, and provide reports to customers and internal teams to ensure transparency and continuous improvement.
- Market Knowledge : Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and competitive developments, identifying opportunities to expand service offerings or increase efficiencies.
Qualifications
Experience : Minimum 2-5 years in a transportation / logistics environment, with a focus on account management and customer‑facing. Experience booking trucks and negotiating with carriers is essential.Knowledge : Strong understanding of transportation modes (FTL, LTL, Open Deck, drayage, intermodal) and familiarity with industry‑specific technologies (TMS, WMS, etc.).Negotiation Skills : Proven experience in negotiating rates with carriers and working within market constraints to deliver cost‑effective solutions.Customer‑Facing Experience : Strong communication and relationship‑building skills, with a customer‑first approach.Problem‑Solving : Ability to think critically and resolve issues efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.Organizational Skills : Detail‑oriented with excellent time management and multitasking abilities.Competitive salary and performance‑based incentives.Opportunities for career advancement within a growing company.Hiring Information
