Job Title : Senior Civil Superintendent

Location : Langley, BC

Salary : $150,000 - $170,000 per year

Start Date : Immediate

About the Role :

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Superintendent to oversee a major highway construction project. This role is critical to ensuring the successful delivery of the project on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead and manage all on-site activities for the highway construction project, ensuring compliance with schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Oversee a large team of construction professionals, including foremen, crews, and subcontractors.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor project schedules and construction plans.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure project milestones are met.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and protocols, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections.
  • Manage resources, equipment, and materials to optimize efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Monitor project progress, prepare reports, and provide updates to senior management.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, local authorities, and other project stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience :

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in civil construction, with at least 5 years in a superintendent or similar leadership role.
  • Proven expertise in large-scale highway or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering practices, construction methodologies, and safety regulations.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and mentor diverse teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to and from the project site.
