Senior Stakeholder & Indigenous Relations Advisor
This focus of this position is to support the implementation of ConocoPhillips Canada’s Stakeholder & Indigenous Relations strategy which includes partnering with communities to develop mutually beneficial relationships.
This position will be responsible for working with both internal and external stakeholders on finding local contracting opportunities, evaluating bids, and collaborating and building relationships with Indigenous communities.
This role engages with a wide cross section of ConocoPhillips workgroups and leaders to ensure ongoing communication and broad understanding of business needs and community values.
Responsibilities :
- Provide strategic guidance to the organization regarding engagement with communities.
- Lead the development of CPC engagement policy and strategy.
- Lead agreement assurance and corporate social metrics reporting.
- Co-lead community agreement negotiations
- Represent CPC on Pathways Indigenous and community engagement committees.
- Support and mentor other team members.
- Work collaboratively with leadership on contracting decisions.
- Lead and facilitate Business Working Group meetings with communities.
- Update and run analysis on spend data and report results both internally and externally.
- Attend asset development meetings and support contracting strategies and decision making.
- Lead development of community apprenticeship, training & employment strategies / plans
- Present data / information confidently both internally and externally
- Attend community events and build relationships with communities.
- Support organizational learning and development about Indigenous culture.
- Represent ConocoPhillips at CAPP committees and influence external policy.
- Negotiate mutually beneficial solutions to complex challenges.
- Work collaboratively with team members to support team goals.
- Emergency Response support
Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree
- 7+ years of experience in a Stakeholder & Indigenous relations related field
- 5+ years of experience working in the oil and gas sector.
- Proficient with MS Office
- Proficient with strategic planning and contracting processes
- Demonstrated ability to positively influence others and negotiate mutually beneficial solutions.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills
- Ability to travel 25% of the time.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis without restrictions.
