MANAGER, ACCOUNTING SERVICES

CORPORATE SERVICES AND FINANCE

We’re excited to see you explore the opportunity to join our Financial Services and Controller team as a Manager, Accounting Services.

This role is responsible for managing and leading the day to day operation of the accounting services function. The Manager, Accounting Services (AP, AR, GL) will utilize their understanding of internal controls and public sector accounting standards to ensure the timely and accurate processing of the college’s accounting information in accordance with college policies and procedures, relevant legislation and industry best practices.

How you’ll make a difference

  • Lead and manage all aspects of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger.
  • Lead and supervise large accounting team.
  • Maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction in the Accounting function from management, staff and employees.
  • Generate reports on routine and ad hoc basis.
  • Resolving business issues identified by management, staff and employees in a professional and timely manner.
  • Providing leadership and guidance for business process improvement initiatives, including integration of systems development activities with other workflow requirements.
  • Ensures accounting related training to staff and leadership across the college is provided.
  • Developing operational policies, procedures and practices in support of the evolving needs of the college.
  • Support the Assistant Controller in developing strategies to improve the overall efficiency of the accounting function and other business requirements as necessary.

What you bring

  • Minimum of five years direct experience in accounting and two years in a leadership capacity.
  • Accounting Designation CPA (Certified Professional Accountant) is required.
  • Advanced MS Excel and Enterprise Resource Program skills are required, with preference given for PeopleSoft skills.
  • Results driven with proven ability to manage multiple tasks, meet goals and stay within tight timelines while working independently or as part of a team.
  • Proven organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership, staff management and teambuilding skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to schedule and coordinate a skilled accounting team to meet deadlines and ad hoc information requirements.

  • SALARY :  $87,095 - $108,899 reflective upon what you bring AKA your education and experience. This is a full-time, perm position with immediate access to our great pension and benefit programs.
